IoT and the creation of value

This week I had the pleasure to attend the Iot Solutions World Congress in Barcelona. I've been listening very interesting talks about the use and applications of new information techs and how its use can improve the added value to services and processes in industry and also public services.

One of the talks I've already been today is Eneco's session 'Maximizing value through the digitalization of assets'. They have presented a case in which the eolic generation of energy in a specific location of Europe was generating a great opposition from the nearest town population and also ecologists because the birds death's when they were flying around the windmills. This case reminded me my work as phone intervier collecting data about the quality of Eneco's services and products, and how interesting it was to chat with the people concerned with the case, trying to get relevant information to help to solve the dead births issue when using ecologic ways of creating energy, in this case the wind force.

What lead me to publish this post is the aim of the Eneco's staff of communicate how to achieve more and better value added to a service that was already been supplied, and collecting data that was relevant at the moment to create a solution to the birds issue but unused.

So making a reflexion about my past work experience and how it was successfully applied by Eneco to add more value to their service, I'm gladd to announce that I'm going to incorporate to my portfolio a new consulting service. It consist of a case study reasearch to collect relevant information from a reduced sample (about 100 to 200 interviews) to get the most relevant information about the service or product quality and performance whose result will be a report with proposals to increase value taking advantage of IoT technologies. Quantitative and qualitative statistical technics will be applied to analise the gathered information.
